Term: Peroneus Longus

Definition: Part of the lower leg, the peroneus longus includes the lateral condyle of the tibia, the lateral surface of the fibula, and the front of the head of the fibula.    It is located at a tendon running down the posterior side of the ankle and under the foot to the first metatarsal.  It is responsible for pointing the foot, bringing the bottom of the foot from side-to-side.
