Definition: 24-bit color refers to a digital color model that has eight bits provided for the 3 additive colors of blue, green and red.  24-bit color may provide 256 variations of each primary color.  In 24-bit color, there are 24 bits assigned to each pixel; this in turn translates to 16.7 million colors.
