Definition: Color management is a process of controlling the output and input devices regarding how they understand the hues they are utilizing.  Frequently this is completed in a software that manipulates images (like Photoshop) prior to printing; RIP software contains color profiles that are designed to pair colors together when printing occurs on various colors of paper.  The term “proofing” refers to the process of working to get a file to the appropriate stage.
