Definition:	A solution sprayed on drawings to stop any possible blurring, smudging or flaking from happening to it. It is used to “fix” the drawing so it remains honest to the initial drawing. It is best to spray fixatives outdoors to prevent the spray (usually alcohol or shellac) from entering the lungs.
