Term Details
Term: Dry Mount
Subcategory: Technical
Definition: Dry Mount is a framing method that includes gluing a print to a firm backboard (like foam core) with a heat activated dry adhesive.  The method is not ideal for a limited edition print.  However, dry mounting is recommended if one knows that a piece of artwork will be exposed to temperature changes and humid conditions.  The dry mount technique will prevent the piece from buckling.
